The bottom line is that unless we start caring for our planet, we will lose our only home due to self-sabotage. How tragic and pathetic of the humankind to do that when our greatest collective strength, we do best is discover and love?!

The triple bottom line, on the sort of same hand, is tying traditional accounting framework beyond measuring profits and shareholder value with an organization’s environmental and social impacts. While a corporate company or a business strives to reach its economic and consumer driven goals to be successful, one sector of a potential $$$ remains untouched and unsatisfied: sustainability. In order for an organization to truly thrive in its environment, the organization must start considering the environment as one of the variables. If I was trying to start a company, I would try to satisfy each cup before I expected any sort of income in return. How do I satisfy the needs and wants of my target consumer audience? How do I manage to satisfy the consumers while also being effective and efficient with my budget? THANK THE LARD that we live on this planet and not the Lorax’s because we would’ve already started lining up for the next water bottle filled with air. Corporate companies have finally started getting the hint that there will come a time in our lives where the rich man’s hunger and thirst will not be satisfied by gold.

This epiphany has finally raised the question that has been missing from the page; however, the final question ends up solving a businesswoman’s whole debacle. How do I satisfy both the people’s needs and my companies’, while also being mindful of my environmental impacts (because I want my company to be longstanding just like our initial green home!)? Turns out the smart fellas have already caught on and plugged the question into the solution by putting value on the Mother Earth and all her natural resources. Sustainability initiatives try to make the footprint us humans leave GREEN! And if there is one thing that I have learned during my sustainability certificate anyway, it would be that people + planet + profit = green! Whether that be green for the planet or for cash is for you to decide :)

If I was about to start my company, one of our team’s core values would be trying to reduce our environmental impacts and give back to the environment because everyone cares.

It is one of the most beautiful and inevitable human traits. Let’s focus and celebrate the good and the connections rather than disputing about the differences.
